Nope, it's a YOTA!!! If everything checks out, sounds like a pretty good deal! Pay the $100 or so, and take it to a Toyota dealer and have them do an inspection first...

Thanks Yeager. I'm just trying to take into account me wanting to do the brakes and fluids. I'm thinking that's probably gonna be about a grand ot including the lift and tires I wanna put on it.

thats a good price, if its in good shape.
up here, the same rig, with just slightly less miles sells for closer to $19k

That's a solid deal then sir - Check for exhaust leaks at the manifold on that v8, they are common on the 4.7.. maybe double check the sunroof switch too, make sure it tilts, slide open and closed without holding it down.. and look for front stuck brake calipers :)

I just went though the process of buying a used V8 4th gen with 120k miles, I was lucky and found one mint.. but I looked for these things before pulling the trigger.

Sounds like a good deal to me if the frame and interior is in good condition. Mileage doesn't always mean the vehicle is crap, just as age doesn't mean a car is going to fall apart. Its just a higher probability that stuff will happen to it.

For the V8 as has been stated already;
~Check that the Timing Belt has been changed
~Major Service has been somewher after 90k
~Brake Calipers are not Siezed
~Exhaust Leaks, common for the 4.7's to crack the manifolds near the flange.
~Sunroof is in working order
~Air Suspension works and does not leak.

I would take it to a dealer or a shop and have them do an inspection on it. But for the price and mileage, if its in good condition you're looking at a great deal, even including another grand or so for tires, fluids, and brakes.

I know it's kind of a different beast, but your sig shows a 99 LTD. How many miles on it? How has it held up for you?

On the 4th Gen you're looking at, have you got any maintenance history from the PO(s)?

The 99 was solid. I loved that rig, but sold it 2 years ago and haven't been on here since 09. I sold it with 120k. No maint history from previous owner, but I did look up the vin on toy owners.com. No major service done, just oil changes, gas pedal recall, tires and brakes done like 2 years ago.

Also, no timing belt sticker under the hood. No leaks anywhere.

That just went out in me!! I took the battery off to clean it and ever since then I have to hold the buttons down...

Damn, you might try doing the reset - I know there is a how to on here someplace.

On any of the auto window functions, open it fully and close it fully, and when closed hold button for 5 seconds. This will reset the auto function.

Sorry to the OP for the threadjack.
