Good light install shop in Los Angeles?

Hey guys - I have some lighting needs for my '17 TRDP. I have the Aiden James exterior light package and also I want to install a light bar behind the grill.

I simply wont do the work and I want a trusted resource on this. ANyone recommend any shops?

Al & Eds (the one on La Cienega in Culver City) has actually done some good alarm work for me on past vehicles BUT they quoted me super high for this.

The Aiden James install (which they say takes average about two hours) was quoted at a $500 flat rate and then doing a light bar in grill could be another $500-1000!! Seems ridic. Thoughts?

If I was local to you, I would offer to help you install it. It really isn't that hard to do. I have no background with electrical but have done all of the wiring myself which includes all of my lights, switch-pro and 2 aux fuse boxes. Most of what I learned was here on the forums from other members. Take the time and read up here on the forums and do it yourself and save yourself the money to be used on other mods. Paying a shop $500 to install some lights is ridiculous. Thats half the price of a decent lift. That said, I'm sure you can find some people who are local to you that would be willing to help in return for some pizza and beers. -Best of luck! :cheers:

I second this. I used his tutorial on YouTube to install mine. Took me about 3 hours but I went ahead and installed switchbacks and HID fogs plus the light bar since I had the bumper off.

Not sure what your timeline is, but I could possibly help if you end up doing a self install. I'm no expert and all my research came from this forum and youtube. lol

Totally right - $500 is ridic. And i want at least a little satisfaction of installing this thing on my own.

Awesome man, I'm glad it will help you out. For the switch in the video, it was just a basic switch harness, but I didnt mount it anywhere inside the cab because I actually hooked it to my switch pros sp8100 unit that I installed after this video . I believe Rago Fab does sell the rectangular switches if you want to switch out one of your black and hook up the switch harness to it.

IMO if you have a truck with mods you should at least know how the mods work in case you need to fix them in a sticky situation.

Self install is so much easier than you think. Rago fabrication offers great video walkthroughs which would probably translate this easily. Also, Rock Creek Overland did an install instructional for the Amber Marker LED lights, I would imagine that these bevel lights are very closely related to this install. Don't pay a shop. You will surprise yourself at how easy the bumper comes off and these lights hook up.

I opted to do all my wiring on my own as it's one of those things where you spend more time on wiring the better it looks. To replicate what I've done for wiring on the 4Runner I'm sure shops would charge $5k or more.

Just ran across this thread. I am the owner of Aiden James Customs. I must've misunderstood what you needed if I quoted you that price because no way in hell would I charge $500-1000 to install a light bar. Something had to be lost in translation and to be honest, I don't recall you asking me for cost to install and just went through my emails however, I may have missed that communication as I'm on my phone currently and not all emails sync to my phone if I emailed from my pc.
