Has anyone installed the Goose Gear sleeping platform in their 5th Gen? I am considering going this route so that I get the use of the drawers and a place to sleep inside for two (we hate the traditional RTT's). I hate that I will have to remove my rear seats in order to use this setup, but the textured flat surface will also be nice for when we have the dogs along. For those have or have had this system, did you feel it was a quality product and/or worth the money spent?

I have the goose gear system installed with 10" drawers and the 60% side sleeping platform of the 60/40 split. Depending on high your drawers are it can be difficult to use as a true sleeping platform. You either need the 8" drawers or no drawers at all or its very close to the ceiling. Easy install. Great quality. You do have to remove the back seats (bench part) not the seat backs if you do not want to, however, you get more storage space underneath if you do remove the seat backs. I can post some pictures of this if you would like.

I have the full sleeping platform without any drawer system. I tell people I bought it to chauffeur around my giant Goldendoodle.
The quality of materials is acceptable, in that it's not some cheap plywood from the home despot. The build quality is pretty good, everything fit together with the exception of two holes on one of the front panels where I had to dremel them a bit to get the fasteners to line up with the threads on the opposing piece. I had another install hiccup with one of the bolts to something you have to remove being cross-threaded by the factory and required me to re-tap it. Obviously not Goose Gears fault. Some of the fasteners that come with the kit are silver and stick out like a sore thumb, so double up your OCD meds if need be.
I added a shit ton of cheap norco vibration dampening stuff to every exposed bit of metal prior to the actual installation and I think that has made a positive improvement to general road noise. BUT be prepared, the installed system make a ****ing symphony of noises when you're bouncing down the road. I was about ready to rip it out with a crowbar and toss the whole thing in the wood chipper on day two, but a buddy of mine made some suggestions that have resolved all the issues.
For the little squeaks and places that the wood rubs against the plastic interior trim,buy some of this Teflon stuff. The adhesive is insanely strong and I think that has contributed to it working so well. It being a sheet allowed me to cut out some funky shapes to match up to problem spots.
Your dog will not have any grip on the "textured surface" of the sleeping platform and will be ping ponging around the back. I bought this giant exercise/yoga mat and trimmed it to fit. It helps cut down the noise and protects any cargo you're hauling around in your 4runner pickup truck.
While I'm shilling shit, I highly recommend this air mattress because it fits perfectly, fantastic to sleep on and packs down much smaller than a bunch of foam.
I don't have any good photos at the moment, but here's proof that it helps with chauffeuring a grumpy polar bear.

Yes, please post pics! And the full removal of the seats is if you forgo the drawers and do the plate system in the cargo area with the "standard" height sleep system, it requires the full removal of the rear seats. It's tough because I'd like that extra head room back there but completely removing the rear seats doesn't sound ideal either.
