Got Lug Nuts for OEM Spare Wheel?

It occurred to me the other day that my 60 degree cone seat lug nuts for my FN wheels are not going to work with my factory spare wheel should I ever need to actually use it. I guess I should have thought of this before selling OEM stuff. Time to purchase some cheep dedicated lug nuts and store them with the little tool bag thing.

Figured I would throw this out there for others who may have overlooked this like me :bounce:

I kept all my lug nuts. Where in SoCal are you located? I'll give you 6 of mine.

Your aftermarket lugs nuts will be just fine for your spare tire if and only if your spare wheel is a steel wheel.

The Toyota mag lugs are designed for the aluminum wheels but if you look at the oe lugs you will notice a 60 degree taper on the end for the steel spare wheel.

I was lucky Toyota thought ahead on that one. I had my first flat in the middle of nowhere and to my delight discovered the shank style lug nuts worked on the steel wheel.

I kept 6 from the sale of my stock wheels and tires. Store them in the jack compartment.

As you have correctly stated, here is a pic of the OEM lug nuts that I sold and sure enough, I can see the 60 cone angle!!

Sweet! Im currently using the lugnuts that Dustin from FN wheels gave me. He recommended i keep my oem lugnuts for my spare. If you change your mind, lmk. Better safe than sorry.
