Got my 4Runner!

Hi all! Great forum.

After almost getting one in 1996 and many years after that, I finally got my 4Runner. I shopped around for an '08 v8 4wd limited but the dealers just wouldn't work with me at a reasonable price. So my wife helped me find an '07 limited. The best price we could find was about an hour and 15 minute drive an only in a v6 4wd. My intentions is to do some camping and trailer pulling so I here the v6's are still good within 5000 lbs. I really got a good price for this used '07 which was a couple of thousand below bluebook. The difference between the 08's I was quoted and this one was nearly $12,000 not including taxes. So you know I'm stoked! This thing is so clean inside and out I can tell you how happy I am. I have a few questions about my 4runner but I'll use the search features to see what I can dig up. But in any case, thanks for the great forum and look forward to conversing with you all.

That is a great looking truck! Good luck with it and enjoy. Do you have any mods planned yet? I think your truck is galactic gray.
 
Congrats. Fantastic, looks almost like mine--it's Titanium (silver). Even down to the two bottles Crystal Geyser and Arrowhead in the holders. :)

I'm going to say it's Shadow Mica for the color.
 
Hey thanks guys. Yea I'll have to do that. (Take a picture in the sun). I have a few questions if someone doesn't mind answering:

1. On the radio there is a "Sat1/Sat2" option and when I select them, music plays. Does this mean I have XM satellite? I thought you have to pay for the service?

2. How do I know if I have X-REAS and Rear Air Suspension?

3. I didn't buy the dealer's extended warranty. It's currently at 28000 miles. 30000 is Toyota's standard manufacture's warranty, should I purchase an extended warranty? If so, can someone recommend one that they are happy with?

4. I hit the "reset" button where it displays the average mpg right after I filled up and drove 60 miles. The average mpg got to 22.8 when driving on the highway. Is this normal? I mean, do you V6 t4rers normally get such great gas mileage?

1. Yes, I would assume that you do have either XM or Sirius if music plays. The previous owner probably purchased either a monthly or yearly subscription to either company. To find out which you have, just look at the online guides and see what matches! :D

2. There is no way to tell if you have XREAS without either looking at the shock or reading the window sticker. XREAS is optional on the Limited. If you have rear air suspension, you will have a toggle switch between the heated seat switches below the console. You would also have a switch that says Ride Height Off in the same place. If you have rear air suspension, you have XREAS. If you don't have rear air suspension, you may or may not have XREAS.

3. I have the Toyota platinum warranty until 100,000 miles, but it was probably a waste of money. It is a Toyota!

4. My trip computer said 21.2 mpg when I drove around 150 highway miles. It is definitely something that can happen because the V6 gets about 1-2 mpg better than the V8. Just be aware that the trip computer is usually around 1 mpg above the actual mileage.
 
Hey thanks Mark for the reply. It doesn't look like I have Rear Air Suspension because I don't have those buttons you mention. Oh well. I'm sooooo happy with this vehicle I need to find out about the extended warranty. Thanks much!
 
Hey thanks Fo_Sheezy! I see you have put a lot of work into yours.

I'm about to order the weathertech floor and cargo liner. weathertech is asking me if I have a doubledecker cargo section? Can someone help figure out if I do or not? Is it that hard floor board in the cargo area that can move up just below the top pull liner?

^^^^ Nevermind above, I just figured it out from weathertechs site.
