Greetings from CANADA Eh ?

Hello from the Great white North. !!

I am a heavyduty mechanic currently working for Transit in Vancouver.


I have a 3rd gen 4 runner that I call the "Luxo".


Its a 1997 3.4l, 5 speed, factory E-locker thats on Goodyear MTR's with 17" rims.
2" body lift, 3"suspension lift.
I have tubular upper control arms, adjustable coilovers, OME rear springs and Fox shocks in the rear. HID lights, above average stereo and 340 000 kms !!
It has a high-flow cat and a series 40 flowmaster and a cold air intake.

I take it out almost every weekend with my two boys ( 6 and 3) and sometimes my wife comes along.
As I live in British Colombia there is no shortage of places to go, things to see and Beer to drink.

When I am not beating the hell out of my luxo, I beat the hell out of my highly modified 1982 Toyota long box or working on my 1970 Celica.

As you might have guessed I like my Toyotas !!

I am a member, and a modorator of Fun In B.C. an aventure site which is local to my area... We do a lot of trail maintance, camping and a ton of wheeling.

I hope to get some ideas for my 97'.

Welcome from another canuck, I have to head down that area some day to explore. I've been there a few times on the highways through and looks like sweet terrain.

(I agree, our beer is better... lol. Especially your home-grown Kokanee...)

You will have a blast when you finally get out here !

I have been going out into the woods since I was 5 with my dad.

I was born and raised on Vancouver Island in Victoria and wheeled around there for 25 years before I moved to Surrey, then Maple Ridge.

I belive that Toyotas are meant to be used and abused, not just look prity in your driveway. !!

That 82' was bought NEW off the Toyota lot by my father in 1982.

There have been 3 generations in that truck. She has 350 000 kms of fun on her !!!!


She has quite a list of goodies in her, Arb, detroit, on board air, 5.29's. stroked 22r, cage etc....

Its a hell of a lot of fun..... I just busted a Birfield last weekend so she is sitting in my shop waitaing for some DIRTY 30's !!

I love this country! (even from Wpg MB at -27C this am...that's a temp that reminds you that you are alive!)

Of course my truck started with no problem, and was throwing heat in <5 mins!

My wife and I went up to Harrison for a Land Rover 4X4 excursion, It was great and the area is gorgeous. Hopefully we can make the same trip when we get a 4runner!
