Grinds going into gear, lurches--clutch?

Hi! New to the forum and hopefully proved my status as a human being with a 4Runner, rather than a spamming robot without being too annoying, lol. Happy to be here! I have really enjoyed the wealth of info so far.

So I have a 1990 3.0 5 speed manual 4x4. I have a few issues to hunt down but the main thing I'm looking for help on is this:

My 4Runner grinds when going into gear, especially first and reverse.

When in gear with the clutch down, there's still some "go." in other words if I don't push the break, it's moving a little. :|

I have to press the clutch far before it seems to do anything. The pedal is adjusted as far out as it will go without disconnecting.

I read a ton on here today, and hoping it wasn't a clutch issue I went ahead and checked the master cylinder, which shows no leaks. I bled the clutch fluid just for good measure. Got the fluid nice and clear! After doing that, the pedal is the same or worse though, and the lurching forward if I start it in gear is worse too. Oh and it's also harder to get in gear now than before. So how did bleeding the clutch make it worse?

But ultimately I'm wondering if the clutch is just worn out. However, I have never had the clutch slip (where the engine revs but acceleration doesn't increase) so I wonder what else I need to try.

The hose to the Slave Cylinder could be weak and expanding under pressure, the SL could be going bad. Get under the truck and watch the hose and SL while someone works the pedal.
But more than likely it's the clutch.
How many miles are on it?

Thanks for the advice. Sorry it took a bit to get back here.

So after I bled the clutch once, a friend came with a fool-proof way to bleed it and I guess I was proven a fool, lol, because the pedal's ability to operate the clutch got much better after bleeding the clutch a second time with that device (sorry can't remember what he called it, but I understood it to be a cheap hose attachment that didn't allow air bubble in).

So it's driving a lot better now. That was a pretty cheap improvement!
