Hello all,
I have an 06 V8 with 190K that started leaking coolant after a timing belt water pump job. Upun further inspection it appeared to be leaking from a small 90-degree coolant bypass hose that's easily accesible from under the vehicle.
I first replaced the spring clamps with worm gear clamps thinking they may have lost tension over time but it still leaked, so then I replaced the hose and used the new worm gear clamps and this appeared to resolve the issue.
Well today I had an appointment to get a hole in the frame welded shut and afterwards went under the vehicle to take some pictures and noticed there is still a couple of drops of coolant leaking from that hose. It's nowhere near as severe as before but I can't believe it's still leaking.
I know that spring clamps are preferable with cooling hoses since they expand and contract with pressure so I'm wondering if I just need to buy a few new ones and try those instead?
To complicate the situation (maybe?) the 90-degree hose that I found locally at Advance Auto Parts was 3/4" ID but the one I took off ended up being 1" ID which I couldn't measure beforehand. I was able to get the 3/4" on there with some struggle and even thought since it was a pretty tight fit that there is no way it would leak this time and it still does! :ak472:
