I'm starting a Group Buy for UCA's that AllPro offers. Please see below for models, prices, and shipping.

These are for the 05+ Tacoma's, FJ Cruiser's, and 03+ 4runner's.

These are for the 94-04 Tacoma's, and 96-02 4runner's.

The details:

• Up to 9 buyers- no discount
• With 10-24 buyer- 15% discount ($424.15 & $551.65 depending on model)
• With 25+ buyers- 15% discount and free shipping

Of course I'd love to be able to get all of us free shipping on this. I'm going to have this post here, and on a couple other forums to gain some interest. In the event that this doesn't generate enough buyers. The Group Buy will be cancelled. Keep in mind, if you're not willing to pay don't waste my time. One non paying buyer could mean the rest of us don't get free shipping.

I'd like to get UCA's to correct my under-spec'd caster and push my tires as far forward as possible to gain some firewall clearance.

You can get around 3-4 degrees of positive caster angle. These are right in line with all the other manufactures.

I might be interested, but I'm kind of naive when it comes to knowing if I would really benefit over my stock UCAs for what I do with my 4runner. I have a 3rd gen with a 3.5" lift, but I only go wheeling very occasionally. I know I need new bushings in my LCA's, and I wouldn't be surprised if my UCAs need to be replaced in the next year or two.

I think I read/heard after market/racing/off-road UCAs help the steering squirrely-ness on lifted Runners. That would be nice. Are these a lot more expensive than just OEM non-racing/off-road specific UCAs?

You'll hear people say that it takes the sloppiness or play out of the steering after a lift. I never quite felt that as I went straight to a Light Racing UCA when I did my lift, but my friend [MENTION=77842]EasylyConfused[/MENTION] mentioned when he went to his TC UCA's that he felt a remarkable difference.
I would have to say that anyone with a lift can benefit by going to a beefier purpose UCA with Uniball(do some research on maintenance, care, etc), but yes, they are significantly more expensive.
The also look killer in your front wheel well if that makes any difference to you.

In addition to firewall clearance, my biggest reason for aftermarket UCA's is the on-road drivability. Whenever I drive my girlfriend's stock height 4runner with proper caster, it makes me realize how shitty my steering really feels. I have 1-1.25 degrees of caster and it's not enough.

In terms of pushing the wheel forward with caster, can anyone confirm my way of thinking…

From what I understand, caster can be increased either by effectively moving the UCA's rearward OR moving the LCA's forward. So, to move the front wheels as far forward as possible, it's ideal to set the LCA cams all the way forward and then fine tune the camber using the adjustment on the aftermarket UCA's. Some aftermarket UCA's advertise their ability to provide extra caster AND camber, while others only advertise extra caster. In my mind, this will make all of the difference in being able to push the front wheels all the way forward. Can anyone confirm this or correct me?

Looking at these All-pro UCA's, it doesn't look like they provide any extra camber adjustment, so the stock LCA cams won't necessarily be able to be run all the way forward. With the All-pro UCA's, the position of the upper ball joint/heim joint whatever can be moved forward and back as well as inboard/outboard, thus allowing the camber to be adjusted as well.

I'm surprised that there isn't more talk about pushing the front wheels forward on third gen 4runners. With other toyota's such as the FJ cruisers, it seems to be an important topic when trying to clear 285+ tires. It gives more firewall clearance, a better approach angle, and a slightly longer wheelbase. Seems like nothing but wins to me.
