Well this is a perfect example of how NOT to run a group buy. I'll put my name on the list because I too want one. However you guys really need to get your act together before anybody sends a dime for anything.

First off Philly, we are not sure that we can get black. Everyone on this list is getting the stainless steel. I have not seen a black on by Strona so I am unsure you will be able to get one.

We'll give full details once we have them! We are waiting on the dist which has been a little bit of an issue lately. Read all the posts and you will see. They are supposed to be in the first week of July. We don't want to get ahead of ourselves until we are ABSOLUTELY sure this dist can deliver, no pun intended...

Here's my definition of a group buy on forums, the seller will offer a discount when enough members are interested in a particular item and there are confirmed sales. Originally, it was intended as a group buy. I wouldn't call it a group buy anymore (pg 2-5 sums up the change).

If you read through entire thread, you'll see where the issues arise. There was interest in the bars, but a lack of members were definate in wanting one (pg 2, when it was called off). Take a look at the poll vs. the confirmed list. Second, this isn't an item that's carried by many retailers and the one retailer that carries it doesn't stock it as a regular item. This is where it changes from a group buy to the sign up list for members who are definately "in" on getting a bar (pg 4). Each of us will probably wait forever to get the bar ourselves. So collectively, if we have a list of members that do want the bar, we have a better chance of getting the distributor/retailer to order these bars in.

With all due respect and no offense, you have other choices for bars. But if this is the bar you want and you're not going with a different style, there's no choice other than to wait. Hang in there, I know it's been some time since the thread was started. It'll be worth it in the end. No one has sent or collected money yet.

Thanks to 4RunnerSE2006, who originally started the thread and got this going. Many thanks to scott78945 and 1MZ-V8, who stepped up, kept our chances of getting this bar alive, and are in contact with the distributor/retailer.

I am not positive but I believe it will fit as they didn't change the frame or anything for the 2006 models. PM IMZ-V8 and he can ask Car-Mic if they will fit.

Yes it is still active, but I'm not sure if you can get a black one or not. I will have to ask Car-Mic Truck when they call me. Most likely SS only.

Not sure if intrigued and Car-Mic are one in the same on ebay.
But, I emailed intrigued about the T&H bar with the cross bar and they will not carry this bar in Black.
I then emailed Truckdepo from ebay, and they do carry this bar in Black, however they are out of stock now and said to contact them in a few weeks. They too are awaiting a shipment.

Does the truckdepo bar look like one on page 8 of this thread or the one they have on their site listed for the Tundra/Sequoia? I don't think either bar are same style based on the looks. The one for the Tundra/Sequoia on their site looks more like a Westin style bar for the '05+ Tacomas.

Rest assured, it'll fit. No worries, just glad you're in on getting the bar (the more members we have, the better our chances and sooner we'll get them). On the first page, X6Runner's got the bar we're trying to get on his '06.
