I will post all ordering info tomorrow. I wanted to give everyone on the forum ample amount of time that were originally in the group buy to have their chance and order theirs. I would appreciate it if no one posted the ordering info until I can call Car-Mic to make sure there are any left. Once I call them tomorrow morning I will post up the ordering info for all to use. Then it will be a first come first serve basis. We had Car-Mic order 30 of the bull bars and we had very close to that amount of potential buyers. Keep watching the posts...

also, anyone have trouble with the nuts and bolts not fitting? the nuts do not seem to go past the bottom of the bolt. is that normal?

I am not sure what exactly you are talking about. Mine all fit ok with the exception of having to make one of the holes on the bottom bracket a little bit bigger. I mean it was about 1/16" too big. No big deal though.

Thanks for setting up this group buy for our members. I've just completed my order of both the bull and nerf bars from Steve. He is in charge of ordering and informed me to let you know that his company has more bull bars on order. They will continue to sell them to our members at the prices you negogiated if we mention the deal whenever an order is placed. You can post the prices as I do not feel I should do that since I didn't structure this deal.

I was also told that for the T4R members who missed out this time will have a chance to purchased a bull and/or nerf bars in the future. They have both parts on order again because of our interest. Good job again Scott....a mighty thanks from us to you!

Yeah, there are still some remaining. They are going for $120 + s/h. They have nerf bars that I believe Dean is selling to us for $115 + s/h, which is an absolute steal. It looks great and you won't be disappointed.

Nevermind... using the scan from the first page was enough for me. I got it installed in about 45 minutes with help from my brother.

But if any member still wants to post it in case anyone else doesn't get the instructions, that would be cool.

Ray,

I just installed my bar. I didn't take pics along the install but here's how I approached it with the instruction sheet from the first page of the thread.

1. Crawl under your truck and unclip the four push pin fastners for the rubber flaps. The two bolts for each upper bracket will need to drop through those fastners. (The flaps cover and block access to the bumper support and the area under each headlight from the grille opening.)
2. The lock washers are used on the lower brackets attaching to the frame and bullbar.
Tip: The nuts and bolts vary from 13, 14, and 19mm. There might be more, it would be easier to size up the nuts and bolts first. I recommend having combination box end wrenches and sockets. I just had both full sets under the truck while installing it.
Note: Do not tighten up any of the screws, bolts or nuts. Tighten them enough so the brackets doesn't fall off, but loose enough to move around.
3. Screw in the bottom brackets to the frame of the truck, using the finer thread bolts. The courser bolts are for the attaching the bottom brackets to the bullbar.
4. Drop the two of the four long bolts into each of the top brackets and install the nylon lock nuts.
5. It would be helpful here to have a helper. Line the bullbar up with the brackets and install the bottom bolts through the buttom brackets.
6. Install the bolts, washers and nylon lock nuts for the top brackets.
7. Tighten up the lower brackets to the truck frame.
8. Tighten up the bolts and nuts for the top bracket mount to the bullbar.
9. Tighten up the bolts that attach the bullbar to the lower brackets.
10. Tighten up the four bolts and nuts for the upper bracket that goes through the bumper grille. It would be helpful here to have a helper go under the truck and hold the combination box end wrench while you tighten the bolts from above.
11. Optional: if you have nuts that fit long bolts, replace the rubber flap over the bolts and install another nut.

I didn't have to alter or tweak any of the brackets. However, the passenger side upper bracket and bullbar mount was considerably off and I just tighten up upper attachment points before tighten up the brackets to the truck.

Thanks for setting this all up! Placed my order on thursday and bar should be here on tuesday. Only bad thing is this is for my wifes T4R and it is a suprise xmas present, so it is getting shipped to my work so it will be a long wait to be able to put it on! LOL

I ordered mine on monday last week, it arrived in my office on wednesday. 2 days for delivery! I installed it on saturday and it looks great !!
The only issue I had was that the hole for the bolt on the lower bracket was a bit off. As a previous poster wrote, off by a 1/16 of so. Took some extra time, but widdening the hole resolved the problem. The whole install took less than 2 hrs. Its certainly helpful to have a hand to help you.

I was rather surprised at how light the bar is, and feels very thin. Expected it to be a bit more heavy-duty. Anyone else feel this way?.
But regardless you can't beat it for looks and of course the price we got. The stainless steel looks awesome on a Titanium 4Runner. Will post my pics shortly.

Next: lowering my license plate and then on to lights to mount on the bar... hmmm..........

There were no installation directions per se, just a copy of the diagram posted on page 1 of this thread.

It takes a few minutes to figure out where the brackets go, get a few tools together, and size up which nuts/and bolts go where. A little bit of planning certainly helps before getting started.

Uneek provided a excellant listing of the tasks and tools necessary for the install.

Nope, no paper in the box, just lots of bubble wrap, tape, brackets, bar, and mounting hardware. I thought there were a second page because the scan on page one says page 1 of 2 (on the lower right).

Oh wells, no loss here, got it installed anyways.


FYI: I forgot to mention in my brief instructions, it's best to empty out the hardware bag and sort all the nuts, washers and bolts. It'll be it that much more easier spending a minute or two than to find go through the bag. Also, the upper bracket is installed from the bumper inside out.

:iagree: the bar was very light and feels thin, at most no more than 10lbs (or it doesn't feel like it). The box says net weight is 12kg, which is about 26lbs. Sure doesn't feel like it. But it feels very sturdy and solidly mounted. I can grab the bar and shake the whole truck with it. Oh wells, should be a nice deterent for those who park by feel. BTW, mine's got a small dent above the driverside light mounting tab on the main (bigger) tube like another member have mentioned.

Anyways, this style bar IMO is best looking one for form and function. And for me at a buck-sixty shipped, I'm not complaining. Could've ended up spending more for less.

Now it's time to contemplate an additional set of lights. Argh, one mod leads to another and another... :bash: :biggrin2:

Finally got the bull bar on, next week will be the nerf bars. I spent the longest time trying to make the lower bracket fit in flush with the frame. doh! But finally realized it's supposed to be at an angle, looks great! :bigok:


When installing the upper bracket I had to remove a 10 inch long triangle shaped piece of rubber, did any of u guys remove this also? I wonder what it's for? Heat protection or something?

I did have to move the rubber on both sides as the brackets need to go behind them. But what I did as where they were originally set I just put them over the bolt that goes through and just put another nut on the end of the bolt and they are just as they were. I didn't want them flapping around.
