When installing the upper bracket I had to remove a 10 inch long triangle shaped piece of rubber, did any of u guys remove this also? I wonder what it's for? Heat protection or something?

You could remove the rubber flaps by removing the upper push pins. I just removed the bottom push pins and did placed the rubber over the bracket bolts as Scott did. Mine is installed as follows (from the top): long bolt, washer, frame, washer, nylon lock nut, rubber flap and nut. I only replaced the hole closer to the radiator over the bolt. The hole closer to the bumper, I left out.

Here's a pic of how Luxury did his and TranceKrayz just removed the rubber flap.

I left my rabber exactly were it was also.

I just dropped the plastic pins repalced with bolts. But i did it a little differant.

Frame, bracket, Rubber strip, Washer, lockwasher, Nut.

I didn't want to do that as I was affraid that it would bite into the rubber and possibly tear it. I was also concerned that I might not get as tight of a lock from the washer with the rubber underneath it. I did what Uneek explained above. It was just easier and in case it ever needs to be taken off, they can just remove the extra nuts I put on it insted of my whole Bull Bar. You need to always think ahead...

Especially when it comes to warranty work by the stealer. Don't want them to charge labor at $75+ an hour because they needed to remove an accessory that wasn't a part of the truck in order to complete the work.

Thanks Uneek your instructions really helped. It took me a little over an hour to install the bar. Here are some pictures of the runner before and after blackout headlights and the bull bar.

if some of you guys might remember I bought mine for my wife as a christmas present. Still hiding in the box and fixing to wrap it up. Just a curious question, now that some of you have had it on your trucks for a few months now, how has it held up? Any surface rusting or the likes? Any tips for the install that will hopefully happen christmas day?

I haven't noticed any rust on the bullbar or the brackets, so far so good.

After constant rain since christmas eve I finally got around and got the bar installed on my wife's truck today since it stopped raining last night. Very straightforward. I didn't have to modify mine in anyway.

I didn't get on this site until about a month ago, but as soon as I saw this thread I was hooked. I picked up the bull bar and nerf bars last week. it took less than 2 hours to put the bull bar and nerf bars on. Thanks for setting this up. for that price it was a steal!
