My Locker Down is just Awesome in my Gen5 4Runner. One of the best investments I made. Velcro for the .45 & GPS. 2 magnets for the clip & knife's.

I am debating going with the 4 digit tumbler lock or the electronic pad lock. I am worried that the electronic pad lock would break down eventually in this hot texas heat. Did you have any of those concerns?

I also have the Lock'r Down with the same keypad and love it. My code is 8 digits (you can make it more if you want) so much harder to crack than 3. There is also a YouTube video of a guy that had a Console Vault that had been broken into. I also picked mine up in person when I was in San Antonio. Great people.

I like being able to go into the gym and leave my wallet and phone in the vault. Otherwise I would have to take it inside with me and that is a hassle. If I were to start over from scratch with a new 4Runner, the Lock'r Down would be the first thing I put in.

Do you worry about the electronic keypad malfunctioning after being in the heat for years? I would really like to get the electronic keypad version but that is my only hesitation

I know someone who has a lot of experiences with mechanical and electric safe locks and she prefers electronic locks.

I've got a Lock'er Down locking center console and love it. I'll have to look up how to post images. I did a ton of research on various makes and models before making a choice. Glad I went with the Lock'er Down.

I think majority of them are the same safe just rebranded with name plates and different locks. Pick up one off the secondary market for cheap

The cheap ones from China often dont fit. Ive read the reviews on several of them. Some of the US makers of these have rattle problems. That would piss me off that a rattling lid wasnt fixed before they marketed the thing. The best one so far for me has been the Toyota OEM. Find it at the lowest cost on line.

I have a locker down safe paid $100 or little less than that. There were a few toyota ones on FB market that wouldve taken $100 as well but didnt care for the key.
