GX470 brakes on a 4th gen T4R

I just drove the GX470 today and Holy I love the braking system in the gx. I am a bit jealous that the t4r doesnt have the same braking system. In part I hate the travel that I get in the brake pedal. Also stopping power seems superior in the Lexus. With that said, has anyone ever done a brake upgrade on the 4r with the gx parts? OR I have seen the 3rd gen having the tundra brake upgrade does this exist for the 4th gen? if so, please send some info, mainly if its an easy swap and how $$$?

If I remember, the GX470 has the same components as the 4th gens with the larger rotors.

how do you know if your truck has the larger calipers besides measuring the rotors? I have 13GN stamped on my caliper, does that mean it's larger?

Simple, if your new sixteens don't fit you have the bigger calipers!

Truthfully I don't know how they are stamped. But, I remember a thread that detailed the differences.

It was quite confusing reading all the threads about different brake sizes and sport vs non sport. My truck came with 17"s so i assumed I had sport brakes. Well I was wrong. Easiest way to check is to look on the back of the caliper for the letters (WH, WL, WG) or the numbers (16, or 17).

so does 13WG = smaller brakes?

So whens the last time to flushed the fluid oit and replace the pads and rotors? You can also change to a heavy duty pad like ebc green 7000s upfront, i have yellow series and its more aggressive, dustier too. I think the gx uses 13 inchers upfront like the sport models. But if u feel like the 4runner brakes arent that great, consider doing those first, and u can also change out tp ss lines for a firmer feel.
