Had hood painted, now latch won't release (need a picture of yours)

Can someone share a picture of their 06+ hood latch like this one below? I had my hood painted and they assembled this incorrectly and it won't open correctly anymore and requires 2 hands.

my 04 latch is too different to help me figure this one out and it is driving me crazy. I cannot for the life of me figure out another way to assembled this to make the spring have more retraction because it looks 'right' but clearly it isnt.

Check that your Grill is mounted firm. It will flex if not and cause the release to not pull back far enough.

this could be the issue, they also broke 3-4 tabs on the grill when putting it back together.
