Not sure if all '04 are the same, but this looks like the number -

The 8" pre-made length available at any local parts store also fits. It is extremely easy to bend this front line. Just buy 2 or 3 lines if you are nervous about messing up...it will still be cheaper than buying the OEM part. If you are competent enough to do your own hard brake lines, chances are bending this will be no problem.

I just ran into this over the weekend, broke a line doing brakes. Could only find parts store lines with extended bevel on both ends, see the pic on the OEM line has the caliper nut as full thread. So I did install the generic ones from O'reillys but could only catch a minimal amount of thread on caliper. It works but just very barely, so was planning getting a couple oem hard lines. Where are the generic lines available with one side bevel end and one side full thread? Or not sure if full thread both sides would work. I favor oem, but good to know alternative in pinch.

Reviving this thread to seek assistance with rear brake hard lines. I'm doing an elocker upgrade swap and I bought a mint condition bare elocker housing off ebay. To minimize downtime, I bought a junkyard non locker rear. Pretty rusty; but backing plates / axles good. Hard lines not so much. The idea is pull the axles out of the junkyard axle assy, rebuild brakes, do the presswork for new bearings and seals, fully assemble the new elocker and swap the two complete rears.
My 1999 (build date 09/1998) was originally equipped with 15-inch wheels. I don't know what the the donor rear truck was equipped with; but it has the earlier brake config (pre-01) and wheel cylinders have a 1 on them, which makes me think it was from a 16" wheel truck.
OE Toyota hard lines are not too expensive; but I'm now seeing no less than 7 optional part #'s for each side. Does anyone have insight into what the differences could be? I can find only 2 different backing plates part #'s: 08.2000 - 08.2002 & 11.1995 - 08.2000, so I don't think there's any difference whether one had a 15 or 16-inch wheel. So why different part #'s for the lines?
I also don't know what the elocker housing was allocated to. Are their any known housing differences with regard to hard lines? My gut suggests I opt for matching my build date and go for the 16" wheel parts. Looks like what I thought would be an easier plan is the exact opposite. I'd rather avoid having to flare custom lines.
