Title says it all, has anyone applied any additional undercoating to their new 4Runners?
When I bought my FJ in 2010, I used the NAPA black undercoating basically under the entire body, minus any running gear and suspension parts. Pretty sure it's an asphalt based product, dried very quickly, wasn't soft, never had a speck of rust anywhere. Cleaned easily, looked great even when I sold the vehicle. The second owner did like the fact that it had been undercoated, it was a selling point.
Took my time, masked any parts that needed it, no overspray, no gaps, looked pro when finished.
Under the hood and in the engine compartment I used a much lighter, also NAPA spray, was an amber color, dried to semi-hard, waxy texture, was perfect for the firewall, underside of hood, and inside the fender wells and grill.
Just wondering if anyone else has done it or has plans to do it to their new 4Runner, what products they might use, etc.
Or, am I just pizzin in the wind? The vehicle is new, spotless, perfect time to apply it with regards to a clean surface.
Any advice? Thanks up front.
