My 2.5 blew out so I am toying with the idea of getting these and using the 2.5 shocks as spares for when i need repairs/rebuilds...

Nice build and it appears those are nice coil overs especially with the CDCV adjustments. Cool. I think i am going to order them this weekend.

You won't regret getting them, especially with the CDC option. You can really fine-tune your shocks this way and control your dampening for street and offroad.

Glad you guys like them. The more i think about it. I know this is the way to go. Just wish you could find a way to electronically adjust the shocks from the drivers seat...

Has anyone had experience with the Icon 2.5" extended travel coilovers no remote res? Did you get the neoprene protective wraps. I'm thinking about buying a set to go with my Metaltech rear set.

I have the 2.5 fronts with the wraps. Best $60 I've spent in a long time.

As for the coil overs, they're awesome and worth every penny.

Yes, that is what i currently have on my 4runner. No wraps though. I did some research on here a while ago and most people do not get the wraps. It is obviously personal preference, but the arguments i read for not having the wraps make sense to me. do a search on the wraps, weigh the pros and cons...


As far as the the CDCV coil overs. I ordered them (super cool) and i should get them in late August. I got a great deal on them because my current Icons (driver side) blew out plus the cylinders have rust all over them. I am going to swap out the coil overs and send the older ones off to get rebuilt under warranty.
