Head rest cable detach/lumbar mod?

My driver's seat is killing me due to a mid-back hump that is just not comfortable to me in my 16' TEP. And yes, my lumbar button is fully deflated, and I have scoured and searched for this mystery mod. I caught a quick blurb in the Broken Spoke build about a supposed cable disconnection that goes from the mid seat area and activates the headrest to jut upwards/forwards in a crash. Anyone heard or know of this? I'm to the point where I'm about to start seeking a regular cloth Trail driver's seat and just recover the damn thing...

Did you ever fix it? Just bought a new 4runner and have the same complaint.

I never kept going. I found a $30 ventilated seat cover on Amazon that was black with red stitching lucky enough. It improved things to a tolerable level. The seats are my main complaint of this truck, I'd kill to have Limited seats to recover.

I was in a loaner limited for the weekend and they are the same. An upholstery shop can reshape the seat for less than $300 though and that’s what I might do.

Reshape were just half of my issues, the other half was not sweating to death in a plastic unperforated seat.

Here ya go, I must have been delusional about matching red stitching. I went out to my truck and realized the vented seat cover width sits inside the stock red Softex stitching. Also comes in a 2 pack for $58! Plug in center console is perfect, flat cables still allow lid to clip shut.
