Headlight and parking light out - something more than the bulb?

Hi,

I'm not that great with vehicle repairs, so this may be a dumb question.

I have an '06 4Runner and the driver's side headlight and parking light are both out. I suppose it's possible that both bulbs met their demise at the same time, but logic tells me this is something more than just two bad bulbs that happened to go out around the same time (it's possible the parking light may have went out awhile ago... I only noticed it when I saw that the headlight was out).

Does anyone have any suggestions on where I begin my troubleshooting process?

Honestly, it could be a perfect coincidence. I would just go to autozone and maybe buy some bulbs and replace them and keep an eye on them. Not a ton else you can really do until then. If they both burn quickly, then maybe look around or take it to the shop.

The simplest answer is the best answer. Replaced both bulbs and that fixed it! Incredibly easy to do as well. Thanks for the response!

Yea, when stuff like that comes up, I just start with the simplest plausible solution and if that doesn't work, move up to the next idea. That's how I figured out my recent headlight problem too
