Headlight replacement...

One of my headlights on my 96 4runner is broking so I was going to replace them. I was curiouns if I the clear one's from the 99-02 model would fit without any modifications....

what year? if it is 98 and earlier, talk to jasonb. he has done the mod on his if i recall. if i am right, and the write up i saw was his, then it sounded rather easy considerring how good it looks.

you sure can. i replaced the lights in my 96 with '00 style headlights. but i used them for my HID retrofit. but yeah they will fit perfectly with no mods. the OEM ones are very expensive to get, so i found some made by TYC that are very good quality. TYC's products are DOT legal, and ive owned some on my civic as well and they make good stuff. i ended up buying them from www.getcrashparts.com and they were priced relatively cheap.

I don't see any TYC headlights at that site?

wait, so just out of curiousity, you can swap out the lights from a 1998 and throw in lights(head and tail) from an 00-02 with no mods?

yeah they dont say anything about being TYC, but they are. just order them as if your car is a 2000 4runner, and then buy those. you can call or write to confirm them as being TYC if you want, but thats what i got. and yes bronco, the headlights are a direct swap. now tails i dont know about, i didnt do those, but id have to imagine they would be the same.

headlights of any year will fit any other year, 96-02. 99+ are hte nicer, more reflective ones.

tails changed for 01-02 4runners, and they do NOT fit 96-00 runners easily. you need to modify the plugs a bit... ill try to find where someone on yotatech did it and post the link here.

Yes, correct, and they will fit no problem.

I have the new lights for sale on my site. I've had them in my own truck for over 3 years. Let me know if you have any questions.
