Passenger headlight lens has a hole in it.
I think it's the same from 1996 to 1999.
Will another Toyota truck lens fit????

Every 3rd gen headlight will fit but 99 to 02 headlights have a clear lens. So you need a 96 to 98 unless you want to upgrade to clear in which case you need to switch out both sides.

Seems truck parts are easier to find than 4runner.

96 to 98 has oid style glass and 99-02 has the clear glass(multi-reflector type). You cannot replace the lens, get the entire lamp. Stay away from aftermarket type. They won't focus right.

RockAuto suggests that there is no interchange with Tacoma headlights.

there is no other toyota truck that has the same headlight shape as the 3rd gen 4runner/surf.

i would search local craigslist or local junkyards for an OEM replacement.
