So the other day after I blacked out my headlights I wanted to try to fix the yellow haze on my lense. I headed out to the local auto parts shop and picked up a headlight restoration kit. While I was there I thought to myself why don’t I get a whiter light to help compensate for the oxidation I have on my lense as well. So I remember threads that I’ve read on here and I picked up some headlights. High beams and lows. I had to have them ordered and they arrived the next day. I pick both up and head home as it was already late and spent the day at the dealership with my mother.( for her 58th birthday she traded in her 2008 Tacoma prerunner, with 35k miles for a 2018 Tacoma trd sport! Her first brand new car in her life!) anyways I was attempting to install them today and I realized they gave me a 9006 and a 9012. Both plug and work but the 9012 doesn’t fit into the headlight. I know the 9012 can be retrofitted to the headlight. I’m going to start that retrofit today or tomorrow and install them. I’ve already ripped the packages, beyond returning to the store. So after I retrofit them and install and compare the 9012 vs 9006 I may be selling the 9006. I’m just here to rant about what happened. I specifically asked for 9012/9011 to fit into the truck as those are the HIR and I was told by the cashier dude told me this was the set up that I needed and that worked for my truck. Moving forward I’m going to trust my gut and order specifically what I know what I want. Anyway I’ll post here when and if they will be up on the marketplace!
