Heavy Coils in the toytec ultimate?

Ive been flirting with the idea of the toytec ultimate lift but i was wondering...

1. since i eventually want to get an ARB bumper if i get the heavier coils now will the ride be complete Sh*t?

2.If i did get the regular coils and got the arb and winch in the long run would it not function well since all the additional weight.

any replies are welcome, just curious i got a couple months before im gonna buy the lift.

if you have the arb and the winch on there you deff need heavy coils, arb is like 100lbs and winch is like 150lbs 250lbs is a lotta weight. i would go for the heavy duty coils for sure

The ride will be pretty stiff, depends on how much stiff bothers you. I have the 600lb coils a they are slightly stiff (which btw is significantly stiffer than stock)

I had the ARB on just stock suspension with new bilsteins shocks. It rode fine, barely sagged. My car had about 96000 times at that time (yes this is all recent around last July. The arb only ways about 40 lbs more than the front bumper (about 60ish lbs) which is not very hard for the regular coils (and even the stock ones) to handle. I have a warn winch, m8000 and I believe it weighs (with synthetic rope and aluminum fairlead is about 60 lbs, with steel line and roller fairlead it weighs 80lbs)

Like I was saying above the total weight of the ARB plus winch is only about 105-120lbs more than the stock bumper. I have the 600lb coils and they are rated for up to an additional weigh on the front of 250 lbs. So at most with about 120lbs extra on the front your only halfway and even another 50lbs would probably give your the best ride IMO.

im sorry but there is no way in hell a winch plus arb weights 120lbs. unless the winch has synthetic lines. i would just get the heavy coils, i have 650lb coils in my truck and i wheel the crap out of it and drive it on the street and it feels great.

It's all personal preference. I had 650's for a while with my TJM bumper and thought that it rode way too stiff, not to mention the front did not flex all that well. I swapped them for 600's and I thought it rode a lot nicer. I recently changed those out, and I'm now running 500's. I like a soft ride, and I can pretty much touch the bump stops in the front now at full flex.

The 600's will be able to hold the weight of your bumper just fine.

Dude, a winch doesn't weigh 150 lbs and no way in hell it weighs 250 lbs. Unless we are talking wreckers for semis.

Smittybilt xrc8 weighs about 60 lbs.

To the OP, before I bought my coilovers I was running a Daystar front spacer setup and had grown to hate the stiff ride. I went with the 600 lb Toytec (Eibach) springs & fully adjustable 5100's and am VERY happy with the results. Places on the interstate that were bumpy & rough as heck are now super-smooth with my new coilovers. It really is like a whole different vehicle, and I like a smooth ride, since this is my DD.

When I get a replacement front bumper I'll just turn up the preload on the coilovers if needed to support the weight. That to me is the beauty of getting the fully adjustable coilover setup, buy it once & tune it as-needed as your needs/wants change. Good luck!

You misread what I wrote, you are correct that it does not only weigh 120 lbs, I said at most IN ADDITION to the weight of the stock bumper. With steel line the arb would weigh about ~180lbs still within the coil limits. Like snow runner said, the 650s do not flex as well and most people would agree the ride is a bit stiff.
