Hella Harness Compatibility with OEM Toyota Switch

Hey guys, love the site! I have a set of Hella Black Magic Rallye 1000's and am going to mount them on a defiant short tube on my 07 Sport, but had a question in regard to the harness. Can I use the Hella high performance harness that came with the lights with a OEM Toyota Fog switch (Part: PT297-35070-AS)? Or do I have to use the toyota harness with this switch? I would appreciate any feedback from people who've done this before.

I understand that, but thats not what I was asking. I asked whether people have wired a Hella wiring harness to a oem toyota switch.

Depends.

Does the Hella hardness have a relay in between the lights and switch? If so, then it shouldn't matter which switch you use...you can even use the Toyota switch although you may have to 'interface' it as the electrical prongs on it maybe different from what's on the Hella hardness. But if you can cut, strip, splice, crimp and solder...should be no issue.

Now, if there is no relay...which you should not do anyways...then you would need to know the current rating of the switch as well as the lights when on...the rating on the switch should be higher than what the light would draw when on.

BUT AGAIN...there should be a relay AND FUSE!

I would google 'installing driving lights' for more info...any good example should have a fuse AND relay.
