Hello there from New Zealand. Thought that I would introduce myself. My name is Thor and I live in Whangarei about 2 hours north of Auckland (Our biggest city). I am fairly new to 4runners (called Hilux Surfs over here). I am currently in the process of building up my 1987 4runner to be used as a capable club truck that will be road legal.
Basic specs are:
3.8L V6 Holden engine and auto with a Marks4wd adaptor to the Hilux transfer case.
Front diff set up is out of a early Toyota Landcruiser Prado KZJ78
The rear diff set up is out of the later Toyota Landcruiser Prado KZJ95
Old Man Emu Shocks and Coils all round
4.8 Diffs
ARB front air locker
LSD Rear
Bobtailed rear end shortened by 320mm
Here is a couple of pictures of it,
I have only just sat the body onto the chassis after building it up. Still lots of work to do until its finished. I am going to enclose the rear to make it into a sealed cab with the rear shortened tray.
