Hey everyone. I literally just stumbled upon this forum a few minutes ago, while Googling for info on my truck. I wish I had found this place a long time ago!

Anyway, I hope I have a place here with my old '98 SR5 2WD. I thought this would be the perfect place to introduce myself and post a pic or two of my truck, but I realized that I don't have the pictures on this computer. I'll come back, edit this post, and add the pictures this Friday.

I look forward to "meeting" you all. :)

Welcome !!! I've only been on this forum for a few months but the people here are great!!! You'll find loads of valuable information.

Hey. Welcome to the forum. I discovered this forum the same way you did, casually looking on google to satisfy my obsession with my truck. Why would there not be a place for you with a 98?? ;):

Welcome Aboard

I am still new here. I can't get through a day without checking in. The people here are very helpful.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. :)
Mark86: I thought I might be a bit out of place with a mere 2WD truck (one of the biggest regrets in my life, believe me...that's what you get for leaving the ultimate decision up to a naive 18-yr old :p).

Well, as promised, here are the pictures:

My friend and I drove up to the highest point in Spring Valley. As you can see, we're illegally parked, but what a great view.

Jayded, there are enough people on this board who have 2WD 4Runner's. (1) I was not able to get a 2WD because it is not offered in NJ and (2) there is way too much snow up here. Wait, you are from California so you are not used to that!! :jester:

Anyeay, those are nice pictures. Your truck looks like it is in great shape. You are not doing bad with a 2WD truck.

Thanks for the compliments. I try to keep it in good shape. :)

"Snow"? What is this..."snow"? :p Seriously, though, I've only witnessed snow (falling) up in Redding, CA...but I do occasionally go up to Big Bear Mountain to see both the real and artificial kind.

Oh, and about the 2WD thing...I suppose it's just because I get people asking me what the point is of having a 2WD SUV. I bought the truck new back in 1998, and I was 18 at the time. I don't know...I guess I was convinced that I wouldn't really do any off-road driving...damn, was I wrong. In my defense, though, I do lug around a lot of heavy and bulky equipment and will need something to tow my speedboat when I get one...not that I have to explain myself to you fellow 4Runner drivers. :)

Hehe...looks pretty crazy. :p

My dad used to tell me stories about the snowstorms there. He was born and raised in Toms River, NJ...are you familiar with the place?

I also visited Atlantic City during the Summer of 2001, so, naturally, no snow at the time. :D

Welcome to the forum. Nice truck! Don't be too hard on yourself -
18 yr olds are put on earth to make mistakes! Lots of nice folks around here to exchange ideas with, etc.
