Help Alternator just bit the dust hard to replace?

So my alternator just quit on me coming up the highway. Its late so I had it towed to a local parts center. I'm about 90% sure its the alternator so my plan is to take it off tomorrow morning and have it and the battery tested to ensure its the problem. My issue is I can't find the removal in the fsm or any threads about it. I'm sure it can't be too hard but I would like to get a head start by reading up tonight before heading there in the morning. If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it! thanks in advance.

Oh I just found it! Toyota calls it a generator.

I don't have a write up but it's fairly easy. When you look at it in the daylight it'll be pretty self explanatory.

Piece of cake. 2 bolts (I think), remove the batt cable, unplug the regulator cable. Easy to get to, 15 minutes to do mine.

yep, 2 bolts. Problem I had was the alternator I got from Advance auto was not as powerful as my stock one and I had to hammer it in a little. Of course it wouldn't fit back in just like the original.

Yeah it was easy. Only pita is the electrical connector. I had to unbolt it from the bracket before I could get it off. Easy done. I got a re manufactured one from toyota for 30 bucks less than napa's rebuild. I hope this one lasts for another 15 years
