My issue wasn't with your post, which was a caution; it was the 'bad idea' one, a characterization which was both unsupported and unjustified.
I am positive that is the first time anyone has said that to me on this board and I didn't like it.

No offense intended! I know you've put lots of good stuff up on this board, probably even helped me out personally at some point.
I'm pretty cautious when it comes to things that can kill me and that was just a gut reaction to the idea- I read the procedure and it looks like it actually could be done relatively safely but it is key that the person doing it understands how the system works and most importantly understands the potential risks involved!
Imagine if the jack slipped just as you undid the ball joint!
