Help! Did a motor swap and now have issues

its throws a code for a 02 sensor when this light goes on. Dk exactly how they are related changed one out on an 2002 and light went away. If anyone knows please let me know how they are related.

I've Read this and took it from there and it worked:

You have to know what code is stored to fix the problem. Toyota's will generally display a Check Engine light, VSC and TRAC light all at the same time, even if it's a simple problem with an oxygen sensor (for example). You can disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes, even though you should a scan tool should be used, to clear out the code

I know in our Subaru Impreza when the check engine light came on because of the gas cap not being tight enough it threw on every light in the dash because everything was fly-by-wire. When the engine code came up it turned off the traction control, cruise control, and all those systems so it Christmas treed the dashboard. My wife was driving the car at the time and freaked out. I went and tightened the cap, cleared the code and all was well.

Not sure if Toyota is the same but that would explain the 02 sensor causing the problem, or the gas cap. Hope this helps.

It sounds to me like you didn't do anything to address the codes you had (except maybe P0171). So go get the codes read, and then start over. If the Cxxxx codes are still there, my suggested tests in my post above should be done.

I would strongly suggest you invest $30 in a code reader. Or, even better, a Bluetooth adapter and the Torgue app if you have an Android smartphone.

Went to Autozone this weekend and the only code it was throwing was for the 02 sensor. We found one vacuum hose on the back of the intake that was off. He reset the code and said to wait and see if it comes back on. if so then Ill be replacing the 02 sensor. I really appreciate all the feedback. you guys are great

It looks as though you were correct.

Its been running great. I need to get out on the Hi way to confirm its running good there too. Scared to try it. LOL

I put my new plug wires in last night and it seems better even than before
