Today was spent removing my old rack and lower control arms. The oem lower control arm bolts-are much simpler to navigate than the generic ones from rock. The rack was easier to remove by cutting the high pressure line--I cranked it majorly last year when I replaced it. The o ring with the h/p line goes in the rack. I couldn't get rag/intermediate shaft off-so I had read on here to remove the brass bolt at the firewall on the inside. Once I did that--there was enough play that the rack disconnected from the top yolk bolt joint. After I had it on the floor--I used a center punch-and once I had a little bit of movement--I blasted with pb-and resumed pounding. The nice craftsman I tried prying with -snapped. I have an old T screw driver-but it was just tappin' the splined shaft--and not wedging the rag joint connection. So the center punch eventually got it to separate from the rack-and I c clamped the rag joint to my old heavy steel jointer bench and removed the 2 bolts/nuts. Positioning the alignment requires swinging the driver side in-to be under the yolk connector. Then you can connect your h/p connector and low pressure pinch-hitter looking tail pipe and o ring. Looking forward to getting this back on the road since my 16 y/o decided to slide on ice into a curb with wheels parallel to the curb on my wife's car!
