Help identify possible leak and location

03 Limited V8 with 145,000 miles

Got under my vehicle and noticed this. Looks like very slight leak somewhere I can't find the source. Judging by what I saw and the pics it appears to be the trans pan? Anyone else have similar? I couldn't tell my smell and there wasn't enough residual to see a specific color to distinguish from trans fluid to oil. There is no fluid above the pan as if it were to leak down.

Any ideas?

Real question is, are you fixing it yourself? If not bring it into shops.

I believe your trans is a closed. So you'd best get in there and bring it to someone who can check it and repair it. It doesn't take much oil loss to make the trans act funny.

But my opinion is always safe than sorry. I don't take chances with my engine or trans. To expensive if something major breaks. God forbid

Depends. It hasn't leaked enough to touch the ground or pool enough to be a bead of fluid. My trans level and oil level are good as well.

I'd clean it up really good with some Simple Green and re-check it in a few days. The leak will be easier to localize before it has spread all over the place.

Color shows signs of Trans for sure. By my experience on the appearance, the dryer stains on the sides are wind blowing it upward enough to make it appear leaking from top, but its not.

I usually get engine degreaser, and spray all area around there and pressure washer it off. If necessary, Final rag and clean it all dry. Run it up to temp and see if it starts to show sign of leaking. If not, drive a trip to store and back and re inspect for location of where leaking.

cleaned thoroughly. Drove it a few days constantly looking under and not seeing anything, looked under it today and it looks just like pictured above. Guess ill bring it in to the dealer and see whats up.
