Help! MAF sensor screw issue….

I went to clean my MAF sensor but the second or lower screw is stripped and seized and I cannot get it to budge…

Soaked it with WD40 to no avail and now I’m afraid the screw is tripped as well. Does anyone have any guidance or tips on how best to proceed? My next attempt will be ordering some JIS screwdrivers or just spraying the MAF cleaner using the straw without removing it from the housing…

Good thing the ears on the MAF are metal, I would use a dremel to cut a slot in the screw and hopefully use a flat blade. If that didn’t work I would grind off the head and take a vice grip to it. Careful of metal shavings.

Thanks for the suggestion! I cut a slot for a flathead but it didn’t work so I dremeled the head off and used a vice grip to remove what was left. I then reinstalled the cleaned sensor with one screw, and hopefully my local dealer has one in stock tomorrow…

Excellent news! I'm glad you were able to catch and salvage this.
After I cleaned my MAF sensor, I relied on the O-ring just underneath the connector "head" to make the seal, and only lightly snugged the screws.
