help me acura mdx or da runner

I too was torn between a 4runner and MDX.

After driving the MDX, I realized the 4runner was my only option.

It is more confidence inspiring.

I dont think Acura is quite there yet with SUV's, even though they are canadian Hondas


With the Gen 2's, they have no off-road prowess.

The 1st thing I would compare is real world crash data, air bag availability, types, where the protection hits high or low, and survivability for all passengers.

Once kidlets arrive, it's the only way to decide anything in my opinion, from jelly beans to shuttle rides.:beer:

2005 is when the V8 picked up the 5speed.

I have the 5 speed in my 2004. I think you meant the V6 picked up the 5 speed in 2005.

The V8 always had the 5 speed

In 2005 the V8 got VVT-i, always had the 5-speed.

In 2005 the V6 got the 5-speed, always had VVT-i.

See my sig. I own both a 2004 T4R and a 2005 MDX. First off, both are excellent and neither has had any mechanical issues to date. FWIW both have approx. 55,000 miles.

The pros of the MDX are:
Seating for 7
Less road noise
Better on-road handling
Bigger 2nd row (Important with Kids, I know I have two)
Better gas mileage

The pros of the T4R:
True 4WD
Body on frame
More masculine
V8
True off-road capability

Notice I left out cons as they are both great SUVs. Safey and reliability between the two are a toss up. Go with the one that fits your budget and lifestyle better.
