Help me choose tires

I have stock tires on the 4Runner and I am lifting it so I need some new ones so it doesnt look stupid . Here is the list.

Grabber X3's - $948.00
Geolanders M/T g003 - $977.84



We live on the Gulf so we get a ton of water and I was leaning toward the Grabbers or the Geolanders for the longer life. Anyone have any of these and can give some real reviews and how they like them or don't?

Is there a specific reason for only considering these tires?

Grabber X3's - $948.00
Cooper SST Pro - $1136 ( Not on sale)
Geolanders M/T g003 - $377.84
Wrangler MT/R with kevlar - $1091.68

From my understanding the Falken Wildpeak & Toyo Open Country are highly recommended tires as well.

I must admit it will be hard to help you determine the correct choice without having a bit more informations

(i.e. What size tires? Are you lifting the vehicle as well? Primary purpose of tires?)
 
I like MTRs, I think I'm on my 7th set. They measure true to size and are light for their size, fantastic in rocks and desert. Usually get about 30k miles out of a set. They will get unbearably loud and vibes from the tread pattern if you're not diligent in rotating them.

I wouldn't run them if I still lived in the southeast US as there isn't enough opportunity to use them.

I think the most important question is how you are planning on using these tires. After we understand that I think we can make some good recommendations. Ill be probably in the minority here but I think from functional perspective unless your truck is a dedicated off road vehicle that sees a ton of mud MTs are going to be more harm than good.
 
I have not seen anyone else mention these tires but I have Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus and have put about 3k miles on them. They balanced easily, are quiet, and great on wet/rainy roads. I haven't taken them off road yet.
 
Really tire search it’s been beaten to death my choice is in order
1. Falken wildpeaks absolutely best all arounder great rain tire
2. Yokohama geolander great tire
3. Grabbers x3
4. Michelin Ltx
The rest fail in rain to me
Can’t go wrong with anything above
But really the falken is best choice

You might consider looking at Tire Rack. Click on an AT tire for the 4R and scroll down. There will be a line that says Compare Tires in This Category....or something to that effect. Click on it and you can see ratings for how the tires compare in a number of ways.

285-70-17, dirt trails and overlanding, 3 inch lift,
 
Thanks everyone I think I am going with the Geolander M/T G003 they are 821 locally installed and they seem to be newer than the others and come with a 45000 ish mile warranty. The grabber X3's are only 834 but the Yokohamas look a little bit more beefy than the Grabbers. I used to have Grabber AT2's and they were great so I have no doubt the Grabber X3's are great but the new tech in the Yoko's seem to have the edge until something new comes out.
 
I'll cast another vote for Falken Wildpeak AT3W. I put these through their paces over the past 1.5 years on winter elk hunts and trips to the desert and they are great. On the desert and hunt trips, I went over some very gnarly terrain including rocks, 12+" of snow and mud with nary a blip. Good ride and wear also.

Also, while these are P rated tires, I read they have an extra ply in the sidewall so can handle the more challenging off-roading you might put it through. Based on some of the terrain I encountered, I can certainly believe this.

You should be able to find these on sale, installed, for about $650. Great value IMHO.

Hang on.

If your main concern is rain/water, is there a reason you're focused on MTs? I know MTs have improved, but ATs are definitely more adept at dealing with water...

I havent seen a AT I like. I like the beefy looking tires and AT's don't look beefy.
 
Well the Grabbers X3's and the geolanders are rated really high for wet traction and I get the look I am trying to achieve, and not have weird looking tires on a lifted 4 runner.

Falken Wildpeak MT's and are the Geolanders you are talking about the MT's or one of the street tires.
