help needed - denton/little elm/frisco

I've had my 98 for a couple of years now, and just wound up with my first flat. It seems the previous owner misplaced the jack handle (the long part that lowers the spare tire). Fortunately, it's in the garage, on the jack with the flat tire removed. Unfortunately, i don't have a way to get the flat fixed within walking distance. My wife's car is too small to fit the tire in the back seat and the trunk won't open (long story).

Anybody local have a jack handle i could swing by and borrow? I'm off 380 between Denton and McKinney. I'd like to get this sorted today if possible.

If you have a long 1/2" extension it will work. I'm not sure how long it has to be though...

PS - i'd be more than willing to leave appropriate collateral while it's in use. I'm just looking to lower the spare so aside from drive time, I'd need it for 10 minutes max.

I know this is kind of a long shot, but it's also my best chance at solving this today. Tomorrow I'll either head to a dealer for the part or borrow a bigger vehicle, fix the flat, and order the part via the innernets.

If you have a long 1/2" extension it will work. I'm not sure how long it has to be though...

I did use a ratchet to raise the jack, but don't have anything close to long enough. looks like it would need to be somewhere around 18-24"

Perhaps a piece of tubing or all thread from a hardware store would work?

...pretty sure it's 3/8" and a 12" long will just do it. Anything longer than 12" is guaranteed--a 12" is right on the cusp so might not work depending on fit.

got it sorted. big thanks to jdmaccord6 for the loaner. i'll be procuring the part this week. really glad i found all this out in the 'comfort' of my garage and not on the side of the road.
