I have a small reset button on my driverside kick panel that has to be depressed after the key is the ON position. While holding the reset button down I turn the key back off and to start a couple times before it cranks. You may have to do this several times over a week period....atleast I do. Something doesn't seem right about my alarm working this way but it gets the job done.

On my 97 Limited, all you have to do to override the alarm system is fully turn the key from off to ignition 2x. That will reset the alarm to unarmed.

Take the horn fuse out before you attempt this. You'll know you disabled the alarm when the flashers stop.

I just did a batter swap with a optima yellow top and on the first go my horn and everything went off. I was an idiot and crossed my lines so was putting a neg on the positive and vice versa.

Everything properly attached?

Success! Thanks cj. Had tried pushing the alarm reset a couple of times but not in conjunction with turning key.
