Help with a leak

Found a leak around my tranny this evening. Not noticing any low fluid levels. For the most part, seems to look like motor oil. Any suggestions where I should start looking?

Transmission oil.
It looks like it is coming from the O ring located at the top 10 mm bolt area(sorry, I am not a 2WD fan). The good news is it is easy to replace. Why not clean that area and pin-point where the exact leak is from.
Make sure to check the transmission oil level.

The bolt in the pic is where the leak is. Is that a simple O ring swap?

That is definitely a simple fix, 10mm socket, maybe a pair of pliers or flat head screw driver to persuade that plug out and change the o ring. And I might add that if your trans fluid can be confused with engine oil, it is definitely time for a drain and fill at the least.

That "tranny" fluid looks terrible. I'd say its time for a full ATF exchange.

Thanks guys. I plan on changing it. I changed it about 3 or 4k ago., but I know I was only able to get so much out. Far as the O ring, do I just take it to the auto parts store to get the correct size?

Yes, just take it out without breaking. If possible take the plug with you. Dealer should have it and will be few $$. Try the dealer first.

I have replaced mine twice with hardware store o-rings.

Anyone know the torque spec on that bolt?
