so i have been gone awhile, and i feel like ive been missing out. well here is my sad excuse, and my appologies (even though i wasnt THAT big of a help to anyone)
its been maybe 2 years? ish? maybe less... but i started to slack off getting on here. main reason being i quit the job that i had where i could be on the computer all the time, and i dont go on the computer much at home. THEN, thanks to several people on here, i ended up purchasing a 2013 kawasaki ninja 300, and joined a forum over there. and i have been doing most work to the motorcycle and havnt really touched the 4runner (i know i know, im fired)
but in my defense, there is a motorcycle forum app thats free... always a plus.
i have been off and on to look something up, or reply to PMs, but other then that no posting.
but here is my latest event.
it started about 3 months ago, around like 40mph to 55mph, and then again at 70 mph to 80mph by front end would vibrate like a mofo. and it gradually got worse and worse. so i did what any of us would do and searched it here on the forum. every post was basically about tires.
i took it in to some people and they said i needed new tires all together (my nittos did look rather dried out, and were also kind of warping outwards, thank you az sun...) so i put new tires on (basic highway tires since my new job is 100miles a day of pure highway, and i dont off road much anymore) but the problem was still there.
so i took it back to them, and they rotated and rebalanced, force balanced and everything else. still vibrating, and only getting worse. at this point i am convinced its not the tires. i left it with them for a day so they could do the brakes and rotors (it was time) and they called me saying that the reason it was vibrating was because the front right calliper was sticking, and not engaging.... (yeah, i fell for it) $800 later with new brakes rotors and front calipers, still vibrating....
i can brake wonderfully now btw... you never notice how much you need new brakes until you get them...
so i went to another guy my brother in law uses and they took it out on the freeway, came back 20 min later and said "is the ujoints".... put it on the lift and sure enough, damn thing looked like it was gonna fall off... $200 later and 2 new ujoints problem is solved....
other then that i am at 170,000 miles now and have not done anything else to it other then the regular maintence. i still love the nonsense out of 4runners.
ill be around a little more often now. i know that pains a few peoples ears tho haha
