Hi,

I just joined this forum. I have referred to it several times over the years. In 2003 I bought a 2003 4Runner SR5. In 2005, I traded it in for a 2005 4Runner Sport Edition. Just last month, I bought a 2014 4Runner Trail Premium. Saw this forum, thought I would join and share with other 4Runner owners. Attached is a photo of the Sport Edition I used to own. I'll take a picture of my new one and post here.

Hi Atlanta Man,

The first thing I noticed was the higher ground clearance when I climbed up in it. I had to add running boards to make it easier for my wife to get it.

The next thing I really like is the Entune system. I like having all of the options available as far as entertainment goes. The Nav system is great. It even has traffic conditions. There is also a weather map. The voice control on the nav system is really good. I said "Take me to Buffalo Wild Wings", it found the closest ones available and gave me a menu to pick one in a matter of seconds.

There is a usb port and aux port to plug in an audio device. I plugged in my ipod to the usb port. The system instantly read all of the tracks and displayed the info on the screen.

There are also plenty of charging/power outlets. There is one in the normal console location, one inside the center console, two in the back of the center console for the back seat, then another in the rear. There is also a standard 110 outlet in the rear.

What really drew me to the 2014 was the new front end. To me it looks "rugged".

Sitting inside, i feel like i'm in a bigger vehicle than the 2005.

I love the 2014 and i'm learning more about it as I go. I'd like to find a place to take it off road and exercise the 4WD.

Appreciate the feedback, I'm looking to replace my 2005 in a few months after I move back to Texas. It will come in handy for the move and some U-haul trailer pulling for my special stuff.

Lots of great products out there these days to choose from. My 2005 4Runner has been good to me. Still runs like new, but it's getting worn down inside and out from living in Atlanta too long.

Thanks. I loved my 2005 Sport Edition, and that is the chief reason that made me want to stay in a 4runner. I had 137k miles when I sold my 2005. Ran great. The only major repair I had to do was to replace the a/c condenser when it sprung a leak. The only upgrade i did to it was to put in a new Sony xPlod stereo that you had iPod integration.

I didn't care for the body style pre-2014 and post 2005. They looked "boxy" to me. just my personal preference. When I saw the 2014, i wanted it right away. Then when I saw it at the dealership and drove it I couldn't resist.
