high rpm squeal/screech/whine??

So last night we had a tsunami warning again as youve probably heard haha..
Anyway on my way home around 10pm my work didnt wanna let me leave early, I was trying to merge on the feeeway and the car in my lane was booking it so I downed it to 3rd rpms climbed to about 3800-4000 and I heard this loud ass belt squeal so I let off slowed down andlet the guy pass...anyone know or had this happen to them? Scared the crap outta me

I would crawl under her, and check all your belts, especially your alt belt. Glad you were safe, no tsunamis = good tsunamis

I just re tightened my belts maybe they are still loose? Yeah I got a feeling we got a destructive one coming soon tho. Mother nature is a scary motha

I would check your bearings on the belt adjusters. that bearing squeal is nasty.

Yes it was a bit wet. But it did it again today on dry roads. Where are the belt adjuster bearings you speak of

the bearings are in the adjuster pulley for each belt. The bearing is inside the pulley and is held in by snap clips on the back side of the pulley. loosen the belts and the pulley should come off a stud by removing the nut off the front. if the bearing spins rough then that could be your culprit. First time I had one go it scared the crap out of me. replaced it in a checker parking lot at 10pm. Good luck
