Highest Mileage Purchase?

Hi! I am brand new here, and on a quest for a 4Runner. I'm actually driving 3 hours away tonight to look at one. It seems that almost every used Runner I come across in any classified is damn close to 200k miles or higher. The one I'm looking at tonight is at 198k miles. Now, I have been reading extensively here, and I already have a list of maintenance items that are going to be performed immediately, unless provided service records prove them unnecessary. Anyhow, how many miles did yours have when you purchased it, and how many miles do you currently have? I'm curious to see who the bravest of the bunch is.

342k on 97 4Runner with 3.4, limited 4wd. Rebuilt trans but original motor. Vehicle was from Cali so no rust to deal with sold to my brother and still running strong at 348k!

270k on 99 4Runner with 3.4L, limited 4wd with E locker. Original drivetrain and runs great!!!!

With these vehicles all getting older they re all going to require some odds and ends but as long as the vehicles shows its been cared for and maintained properly I do not worry about mileage as much as undercarriage rust!!!

220,000 miles. 3.4 V6 Ltd. 97' Caught up with some minor maintenance the PO had neglected to do and she is running very smoothly. Currently at 236,000 miles.

Bought my 98 3.4 Limited with 230k, original drivetrain. Like others have said, I tend to look mast the millage so long as the frame is solid and maintenance has been mostly kept up with.

I bought mine with 190,000 miles. Engine runs like a top but the transmission did die on the previous owner. These engines last a looong time but steering, suspension and the sort do tend to fail before then.

I feel pretty brave here. You have no idea what it was like walking into the dealership. OMG wolves everywhere. I swear!

Mine had 12 miles when I originally purchased it and it has 325,000 today.

Seriously, it's been said over and over again on this forum, it's not the mileage, it's the maintenance. If it's maintained well these rigs will go on forever. If not, like anything else, they'll find themselves in the boneyard because of neglect.

I'll see another 325K I'm sure.

Bought it with 357,XXX on the clock last December, just ticked her over 364k last week. I did all recommended maintenance the week I bought it minus the timing belt, as the po gave me a receipt as to when it had been done.

169K when I bought 3 years ago. Now at 201k. Had been very well maintained at dealership. I did replace one ignition coil that went out, and just had to do the valve cover gasket as it was starting to leak but otherwise only routine maintenance.
