Hitch/Roof Boxes

That system sounds good. However, I purchased the Evolution 1800 which is longer. With the back spoiler, the front of the box sticks over the last rail by about 2 and a bit feet. With the current configuration the box bounces. I talked with Toyota and they said they do not make any sturdier rails.

If you buy the feet like I have (picture #3 on page 1) then it will be much more stable as it does not use the Toy crossbars. The rails that I am using is from a thule system that I purchased for my jeep 8 years ago. The feet are specific for a vehicle but the rails will fit with a number of feet. The cross section of my rails are square. The newer ones are rectangular; so be careful to order the correct feet that will accept the type rail you have.

I know this is an old thread but I just snagged the same box. Your 1st post stated they weren't recommended for the 4runner.... reason why?
