Home Made Cargo Mat/Liner

So, I'm on a tight budget and can't afford a Husky liner or anything like that for the trunk of my 4R. So I got to thinking. Has anyone on here tried to make their own cargo mat? I just need something that will keep my carpet clean when I have trail gear/dirty boots/mud soaked recovery straps/etc in my rig. i went wheeling this weekend and ended up nearly ruining the carpet after I had to get knee deep in mud to pull out my buddy in his Dodge. I'm guessing Lowe's and Home Depot sell rubber/vinyl material that could work and I could just cut it to size. Has anyone done this? Would love to see pics if anyone has.

Go to home depot. Buy some cheap rubber or carpet. Haha you can even buy astroturf for $5. This is a legit solution. Go there :)

Never thought of Astroturf! haha. Thanks for your input Brian!

What did you end up going with for your DIY cargo mat? Do you have any pics and/or did you do a write-up on it somewhere else? Looking to do the same in my newly acquired '04 SR5. Thanks!
