Homemade drawers and roof rack. Neither are 100% finished in the pics, but I apparently have not taken pics of the finished projects. The rack is now black and I had to install a fairing as the wind noise was very loud on the freeway.

Did the wind fairing make much of a difference? We made a rack and it doesn't have a wind fairing and the noise was so loud we took it off. We thought about attaching a wind fairing but weren't sure if it would make much difference. Love your drawers!!
Made some brackets and used strut nuts (2 each bracket) to attach them to the stock bars. Then used some bolts and locking nuts to attach the other side to the rack. The rack itself rests on the the stock bars. I like the low profile. I did not want something to sit up too high. I have to use a step stool as it is to load/unload it. (I have 285's and a 3/2 lift) I also found some more pics of the build.
It was not too difficult to build. I had never welded in my life before I did this project.

The fairing made a huge difference. It is my daily drive on the freeway and never notice it. I think my old tires made more noise then my rake does with the fairing..
How deep are your drawers and where did you buy your drawer slides? I needed 36" full extension and most everyone was selling only 500lb capacity heavy duty in the 36" length. I wasn't going to pay $200 for drawer slides. I found only one place online that sold 250lb capacity for $40 a set.

They shipped fast. They don't come with hardware but a trip to Home Depot and a few dollars fixes that fast and easy. I like them a lot and highly recommend them. I've only used for about a month and a half but I don't seem them failing.
Also, the 250lb rating is plenty. I have my left drawer loaded with tools and slides very easily. No need to spend the high price for the 500lb rated slides.
