Hornady hot tub

Anyone have any experience with them? I know it will clean brass really well and will also clean metal parts good also. My main concern is the plastic gun frames and slides. Will it hurt the plastic or take off the painted markings (safe/fire) on the gun parts?

I'm looking at buying a sonic cleaner soon and would like some input. What have you used and how long have you used them? I shoot a lot and would put my pistols in about every other week so I don't want to have to worry about brittle or pourus plastic a year down the road.

Pretty much what I'm reading is that they are generally safe for polymer parts and sights as long as the dots aren't painted. So I'm thinking that any painted markings on the parts are going to get washed away too. I'm somewhat okay with that since the trade off will be an extremely clean firearm. They also say not to clean real old guns in there where the finish is weak.

It works pretty well but it takes forever to get a bunch of brass clean. Never tried it on plastic but can say it works best if you deprime the brass first. I usually do in batches.

I'm sort of interested in trying a stainless pin tumbler setup at some point.

I was looking at that one but some common complaints were that it took forever for the solvent to heat up. How long does your take to heat up?

It heats just fine. It gets too hot to handle during a cleaning cycle if I set it warm enough. Maybe I just got lucky and got a working unit or something.

How long have you had it and how often do you use it? Ideally I would like to have one for brass and one for guns. I may get the magnum cleaner now and get a longer 36" one later down the road.
