how deep will a four runner go?

I was reading an article about the new volkswagon tourege (how ever you spell it). The article stated that the thing would handle water depths up to 22.5 inches. It has sealed doors and a sealed electrical system. How does a 95 four runner compare.
just wandering? It appears my 4runner has a lot better ground clearance than a tourege. maybe I am wrong?

It's not just ground clearance that has to be considered.

How high/vulnerable are the:

air intake
alternator
distributor
electrical system
axle/tranny/t-case breathers
axle/hub seals

etc

yea it seems to me that 2 ft of water is a lot of water
to be driving through, The Question is how deep will a runner go? and what will be the long term effects on the drive train components?

friend has his 87 runner with water over the hood and inside the cab. was on the driver side so the ecu didnt get touched. the truck needed a starter and was fine.

Deep water

I went trugding through some deep water with my stock 1988 V6 just to the hood with no problems. Had to change all the driveline fluids and grease the drive shafts after. Extended breathers on the differentials, transmission and transfer case is reccommended before going swimming.

biggest worry is water getting into the air instake.

on 2nd gens with v6, it's right behind the left side headlight.

get any water in there, no matter how high or low it is and you are dead in the... well, water...
