From '93 til '05 I've gotten 16 speeding tickets and no other type of violation but most of that 16 was from '93-'01 and lost my license for 4 months in '99 and thena whole year in '01 then I've pretty much behaved since plus I've been driving slow 4Runners since '03.

My highest speed I was pulled over for 132 in a 65 and got a 19 over the limit ticket since it was 2am in the morning and I wasn't doing it in an SUV or a truck and a little groveliong didn't hurt.

I now have been ticket free and actually only pay $70 a month on my 4Runner full coverage.

Haha wow ron, thats some hardcore speeding!! Glad the cop was nice, i might be wrong but i think if you double the speed limit you can get arrested.

I had a cop pass me when i was going 40 over before, i have absolutly no clue what was going on, he obviously had somewhere to be.. He had his lights on, and honked as he passed me.. I slowed my ass down as he flew by.

I started collecting tickets in 1990.
1990 - overspeeding ( 45 in a 25 zone)
- overspeeding ( 70 in a 55 zone)
1991 - reckless driving ( 120 in a 65 zone)
- parked in a handicapped space
- parked in a red (fire lane) space
1992 - overspeeding ( 85 in a 60 zone)
- overspeeding ( 55 in a 45 zone)
1993 - overspeeding ( 90 in a 65 zone)
1994 - overspeeding ( 75 in a 55 zone)
1995 - expired parking fee (more than 2 hrs)
- parked in a yellow (taxi lane zone)
- overspeeding ( 85 in a 65 zone)
1996 - overspeeding ( 65 in a 55 zone)
- underspeeding ( 55 in the fast lane)
1997 - overspeeding ( 55 in a 35 zone)
- parked in a reserved space
1998 - overspeeding ( 80 in a 65 zone)
- overspeeding ( 75 in a 55 zone)
1999 - overspeeding ( 90 in a 65 zone)
- tailgating
2000 - None
2001 - overspeeding ( 50 in a 45 zone)

2002 to present - NONE

All that other stuff is pretty crazy but this should not have been a ticket that cop must have been having a bad day.

Speaking from experience in the ticket writing field, when we run your drivers licence number we see everything you have done in the past. If your record was like mikestoy, then yes you would probably get a ticket for 5 over. Mikestoy should probably be driving 5 under the speed limit for the next 7 or so years. From the looks of his record, it looks like he has learned his lesson, but back in the 90's it looks he was just acting stupid.

My heavy foot days are over. I've been a good boy since 2002. And it's almost 2009.

Just 1. Got it coming back from offroading on the 5 freeway in CA. He got me for 81, but I saw him ahead of time and was able to slow down. Initially I was going around 90.

It was annoying because I have a radar detector, but after a year or so I got lazy and stopped plugging it in. Didn't do me much good in my glove box.

I do still have a problem with speeding but I drive the 4Runner now and no more sports cars at least for a while. I still have had 3 tickets in the 4Runner.

I've been driving since '85 and I've had nothing but speeding tickets and only two since '95 and both happened in the last 6 months-1 in my Runner and 1 in my friend's xB.

Just one ticket when I was 17. I was going 23 over, but went to traffic court and got the penalty reduced.

I got a written warning a few months back. Coming down a long hill I was "estimated" to be going 50 in a 40. I could see the cop at the bottom of the hill so I was watching the needle and know I didn't touch 45, so it was pretty much bull.

Estimated? That's BS. I wonder if he could "estimate" which finger I'd kindly offer him.

I got the same thing once. I was leaving campus(UNCW) and 'pumpin' my bass' and the cop took off after me and said, son, you know how fast you were speeding back there, i said yes, 28 mph. Basically said i was speeding but lucky he didn't have his radar on so he could only give me a warning for going 28 in a 25.

As far as i know, cops are trained to estimate speeds visually and CAN write speeding tickets off their observance(at least here in NC). They are trained to base your speed off theirs and other vehicles.
