Take a look around the classifieds to figure out a ballpark number, it will obviously be influenced by trim and options (5spds and e-lockers add a lot of value).

Like they said, what someone is willing to pay.
But maybe 5-6k? Typically a 4runner of that year would have 200000 miles on it and some dings, and be on craiglist for $3000 around here.

38k Miles, pristene condition, you could get at least 10k out of it easy. I got my 98 limited with 215k on it for 3800. I had a buddy about sell his for $10500 and his had upwards of 140k on it. Just depending on your location and what the demand is. But definitely look up the year and take into account what others are selling theirs for in your area. I would definitely throw it up on here and you would find someone that wants it for what you decide to ask im sure.

I don't keep up with the value of a 2wd, but if it's 4WD I'd say you have a truck worth at least $10k. With the right options and color combo it could bring considerably more than that. For it to bring top dollar you will need to advertise it nationally. Ebay and Autotrader, and you want to put it up in the classified section here for sure.
In case you don't know already, the 3rd generation 4Runner is in the process of developing a cult following. They're practical, durable, and capable. A lot of people feel Toyota went a little soft with the 4th Gen, and don't like the styling. They'll pay serious money for a pristine 3rd gen.

Some people may think this low of miles may be a bad think; whether it be the thought of odometer fraud or the thought of it sitting around not doing anything for an extended amount of time. 3X,XXX miles is 3-4 years of average driving for most people, what happened to the other 15+ years?

Until they look at the vehicle. One with only 38k will have a near perfect interior and super clean engine and underbody. Ones that have been rolled back will show signs of wear.
I suppose you are not planning on keeping the vehicle? Out here in California, you could get upwards of $12,000 for one like that.
Very nice , glad to hear you got it. Think very hard before you sell it. My mother-in-law gave me hers. 98 V6 Locker white with blue interior,56000 miles on it. She has had it since new in Kingman az. Runs like a champ and gets 20 mph . The only thing I have done to it is change all oils to synthetic. Good Luck and you better keep it.

What you have is truly rare and highly desirable. I would be shocked if you could not easily get 12,000. Eff blue book values. They do not apply in this situation.
The front range here in Colorado may be the strongest market in the country for this.
A pristine, low low mileage, original, unmodified, properly stored 3rd gen 4runner with supporting documentation is so very very rare. You may well have the most pristine, lowest mileage one in the country or North America. Again, what you have may not exist anywhere else and therefore commands a substantial premium, in my opinion.
Consider hanging onto it and driving it.
Basically, someone would be buying the equivalent of a new vehicle. How much would a comparable vehicle be off the showroom floor?
Ask yourself this: If you wanted to buy the same vehicle next week 1) would it even exist? 2) how long would it take to find it? 3) how much would the seller expect, given its rarity and popularity?

Try double your amount.
I have a highland green 1999 SR5. Stock, straight, 200k and perfectly maintained. I would not part with it for $7500. No way.
