How much was your TINT job?

Yeah, I'm willing to believe that but they won't warranty it so I guess I'll make do with the fabric shade. Works just fine to keep UV and heat out so that's that. The sun is something special here so maybe there's something to it too.

It was six years ago, but paid like $350 or so for it. Got the ceramic, super duper, top of the line, blah blah stuff. Got it all around, clear front with that tinted upper part, life time warranty.

I remember reading something YEARS ago that was talking about double/triple pane residential windows with two layers of tint on them and them shattering.
It was basically a thermal issue from what I recall.

I won't even attempt to look for the article since it would be over 15 years ago.
I remember because I was specifically wondering about tinting triple pane.

I do think that the price you were given is extremely overpriced even for ceramic. Do not go to an overpriced shop, there are plenty of small shops willing to do the entire job for $200-$300, you just have to check offerup and craigslist.

Fun day at the tint shop.

Autobahn i3 nano-ceramic: 33% on front door windows, 40% on all privacy glass.

Madico Black Pearl nano-ceramic: 75% (clear) on the windshield.

$745 out the door. Looks pretty dark from the outside, but it really doesn't seem dark from the inside, even driving at night.

I splurged on top of the line nano-ceramic all the way around. Wouldn't change a thing.

Solar Gard 20% tint all wrapped around except for front windshield, $215 cash with with Houston, TX heat, doesn't penetrate as much then again I'm Blizzard Pearl. Way better than bare tempered dark glass, more privacy as well. Get the XTR LP or led back up bulbs upgrade ready!

Rayno Phantom S7 nano carbon. $750, all windows except windshield. comes with some lifetime warranty that replaces all the window tint if there is an accident or something. I got hosed. :frusty:

It is great tint though....

I had the front two factory matched (20%) and 5% limo overlay on top of the factory tint on the back drop window. That and a windshield strip and my guy
charged me $120 and I gave him a decent tip too

$250 total for all windows except windshield for 15% all around. Llumar ATC. Used same reputable shop in San Diego few years ago on my old 4rumner for $200 plus tax so prices went up slightly. Not sure why one time they charged sales tax and once they didn't.

FWIW, I requested ceramic and guy said it's not worth it. He could've charged me more for it but said unless I demand it, just go with regular ATC since it has transferable lifetime warranty as well.

$89 for 20% on front 2 windows. It looks great from the outside but the differing "tones" between the front rear did not sit well with me. Guy is going to do the rest at 35% for me next week. He typically charges $199 for a full SUV, and he is super fair, so I am thinking that I will only be paying the additional $110.
